Accessibility & Your Website

Description

Description: Under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, school websites must be accessible to all individuals. This includes those who are blind or have low vision, are deaf or hard of hearing, have cognitive disabilities, and so on. By making adjustments to improve the accessibility of your website, you are creating a resource inclusive of all of your stakeholders - your students, their families, the community, and the public at large.

In this session, you will learn why accessibility matters, find a tool to check the accessibility of your website, discuss the considerations that need to be made when designing and editing your district’s website, and practice creating accessible pages.
