2018 STEP Student Training and Employment Program

The Indiana School for the Blind and Visually Impaired in collaboration with BOSMA Enterprises:

The summer Student Training and Employment Program (STEP) is a four week paid work experience for blind and visually impaired students from the state of Indiana ages 16-22 who are currently enrolled in a high school program or will be graduating from a program as of the 2018 class. The program begins with registration on June 17. Students work from June 18-July 20 (with the week of July Fourth off.) Students must commit to the full four weeks of the program. Students are paired with a job coach and are placed in jobs in and around the Indianapolis area.

All applicants must be able to live, travel, and work with little or no assistance.

  • March 2nd online application is due on the BOSMA website for students and staff. Staff positions will also submit a resume. An email will be sent from BOSMA when they received your application and it is complete.
  • Last week of March: Applicants chosen will be notified by Judy Reynolds through the mail and sent a STEP packet.
  • April 27th STEP packet is due completed and employment verified.
  • June 17th Registration 
  • June 18th - July 20th STEP program
