Assistive Technology Lending Library
The PATINS Lending Library will continue to make every effort to offer continuous support to Indiana LEA stakeholders for the 2020-2021 school year.
The 2020-2021 PATINS Lending Library Loan Request is now open!
Please contact Lending Library Managers with all questions regarding loans and shipping policies. All requests for borrowing items from the Assistive Technology Lending Library must come to us directly from an Indiana public LEA employee for Indiana public school students. It has come to our attention that some Indiana public LEA’s are utilizing outside contractors (both in-state and out-of-state) for the provision of services that can include blind and low vision, speech, occupational therapy, physical therapy, behavior therapy, etc. PATINS values these service providers and the important work they are doing with Indiana students. However, we must require that all requests for PATINS and ICAM direct services, such as borrowing from our Lending Library, requesting a training, or requesting Accessible Educational Materials from the ICAM, come to us directly from an Indiana public LEA employee for Indiana public school students. Please contact us with any questions you might have.
We are pleased to provide the PATINS Lending Library, a no-cost service, that loans assistive technology devices, software, resource materials, etc., to school personnel at Indiana's Local Education Agencies. These items are shipped directly to your school. They are used for the purpose of preview and/or trial periods with students. Items are loaned for a six-week evaluation period. If you do not see an item that you would like to borrow in our catalog, please let us know.
PATINS cannot guarantee immediate delivery of requested equipment.
Catalog Search Tip: Try searching by one word using uppercase for first letter. Search will show all items containing that word.
It is the school's responsibility to look for other avenues to obtain necessary equipment if it is required by an IEP and not available from PATINS.
If you are looking for Apple Apps, please use this Google Document to search. If you need additional information about an app, once inside the document you can click on the Apple vendor link. You can borrow an iPad with apps, both paid and/or free apps or we can send apps directly to your device as long as it is not being managed by an MDM solution such as Filewave. Please contact us if you do not see an app that you are interested in and we can possibly add it to our listing.
Please be assured that PATINS Lending Library will follow the strictest protocol for cleaning and disinfecting all loan requests before shipping to Indiana LEA stakeholders.
Please be extra mindful of proper hand hygiene and device cleaning while handling loans and transferring devices and items to students.
All safety precautions will be used when checking in loans per CDC guidelines.
Please contact Lending Library Managers with all questions regarding loans and shipping policies.
A short evaluation is required for each item borrowed from the PATINS Lending Library. The information you provide helps us offer better recommendations about equipment for future users and also to justify the time, effort and resources needed to maintain the Lending Library. You will find the evaluation using the link or QR code below.
