Jena has a wide range of classroom experiences that include special education paraprofessional, peer model preschool co-teacher, Title I instructor, and 3rd grade teacher. She has a Bachelor's in Elementary Education and a Master's in Exceptional Student Education. She is excited about sharing how intentional classroom and instructional design can change the game for your student. She enjoys watching movies, camping, playing games, traveling, and home projects.

Simple, practical, and use-it-tomorrow: this two-part session is all about reading and writing instruction for students with the most significant disabilities. Focused specifically on students who have complex learning needs, you'll have the opportunity to explore key instructional strategies and tools and how to work them into in a busy classroom. In the writing recording, you'll find information on predictable chart writing, independent writing, and times to build in authentic writing opportunities throughout the day.

PATINS Specialist

Jena Fahlbush is a Specialist for the PATINS Project. She holds a Bachelor's in Elementary Education and a Master's in Exceptional Student Education and is a licensed teacher for grades K-6. Her wide range of classroom experiences include working as a special education paraprofessional, peer model preschool co-teacher, Title I instructor, and 3rd grade teacher. As a strong believer in the power of technology and universal design, she is excited about sharing how the right tool and intentional design can change the game for a student. Description: In an age of distance learning, we must ensure that we are creating accessible digital resources for all students. Retrofitting accessibility into current content or old documents and worksheets can prove cumbersome and challenging. This recording will teach you how to start creating accessible digital content as well as ways to test for accessibility. Description: As educators of digital learners, it is essential to create accessible digital content for all students, their caregivers, and the school community at large.
